HI All,
I wanted to take a moment to thank the TSS Department for their most incredible gift for Secretaries Day. Only from the minds of Bob Bean and The Gang can a simple, innocent statement such as "I like flowers" turn into a full blown event. Sure, I didn't follow up by saying that I also like vases, but I didn't think that was necessary. Obviously, I was wrong. But to my amazement, instead of vases, I have a lawn, lawn mower, garden bunnies (like garden gnomes but without the creepy factor), planting flowers, a chirping bird, trees, balls...you get the idea.
I've lived in a condo for the past four and a half years, prior to that I was in the Army so I haven't had a yard in such a long, long time. Enjoying the splendors of a lawn has been something that I have missed. It is the most ingenious gift I have ever received! I will enjoy my yard for as long as it lives.
A couple of announcements before the end of my thank you:
1) Anyone who has teenage children who would like to earn $5 for mowing my yard, please have them call me between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM.
2) I have already received requests for picnics and camp-outs. A sign-up schedule will be placed out side of my cube. Anniversary and birthday picnics will have priority over casual picnics. No campfires allowed. All picnics and camp-outs are free (I only ask for small donations of Corona in return of the use of the lawn).
3) Carla is putting together a website with pictures of their beautiful creation before, during and after. Sort of a VH-1 Behind the Music-type look at the process of making a cubicle lawn. The website should be ready by tomorrow morning and she'll email the address then.
THANK YOU Bob, Chuck, Jon, Kenny, Dave, Sarah, Sam, Carla, Andy, Max, Tom, Jim, and Yuliya! Thank you Carol for allowing Bob and The Gang to just be themselves.
A very happy and content secretary, Kate
